Merry Christmas. I send this message to you all as it is now the start of Christmas night for the 2,000 United States military personnel deployed to Syria. It is also Christmas night in the war zones of Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and the Palestinian Territories. Millions are under arms far from home, while even more are living in fear of war, with many being displaced. Please remember them this Christmas. May they all go home.
God came into the world because He loves you no matter your race, ethnicity, sex, what you identify as, housing status, criminal record, legal status, age, stage of development, family situation, bank account size, or how many sins weigh on your soul. Let us love each other as He loves us, and journey to reciprocate His love. It is the only way to break the cycle of sin that hurts the world today.
“Don’t forget this, brothers and sisters, God forgives everything, God forgives all. Never forget this. This is the way to understand hope, the hope of the Lord.” -Pope Francis
Gift
My gift to you is a very short story. December 23rd’s vss365 word of the day was glisten. It gave me the idea to describe Bethlehem prior to the nativity.
Soon
The air was chilly and had a snap to it. The ground was hard and cold. And above all of Bethlehem, a star had a glisten to it that only those who were looking for it would notice. The savior was coming.
Finally, please enjoy this memory from my first Afghanistan deployment. On Christmas Eve night, the Protestant chaplain and his crew of carolers came and visited my unit.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
