Aaron Irber runs the I Might Believe in Faeries podcast. The podcast is about “stories, myths and Catholicism. Stories are how we orient ourselves in the world. In Catholicism, we believe in the Greatest Story: Christ crucified and resurrected. We participate in His story through ritual worship; the liturgy. Even in the Catholic Church, these truths are often forgotten or ignored. My mission for this podcast is to explore storytelling, myths, and how these fit into Catholicism. I will cover Catholic fantasy and science fiction authors, mythology, folklore and the Catholic faith.”
Last year, he had me on to talk about my research on how aliens fit in Ancient Greek and Christian worldviews. Additionally, we talked about UFOs and UFO related matters. If you want an open mind that requires critical and rigorous thinking, check it out. The interview is available on Spotify, Apple, Substack, and elsewhere.

I seem to be on an apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic kick and I couldn’t love it more. Sometimes you just need a good end of the world book to sink your teeth into and this one does not disappoint.

This book is anything but predictable. It has lots of twists and surprises that kept me guessing about what would happen until the very end. I applaud the author for his vivid imagination in crafting such a clever and thought-provoking novel.

Murder by Munchausen: When Androids Dream of Murder by M.T. Bass - Free Book
After Jake shoots and kills a murder suspect who turns out to be the son of a powerful city councilman, he finds himself demoted to the Artificial Crimes Unit, tracking down androids hacked and programmed to be hitmen.
When his case of an “extra-judicial” divorce settlement takes a nasty turn with DNA from a hundred-year-old murder in Boston and a signature that harkens back to the very first serial killer ever in London, Jake finds himself tangled up in the brutal slayings of prostitutes being investigated by his former Robbery/Homicide partner, Maddie–who is now his lover.
“It might not make sense, but the beloved Media tags it ‘Murder by Munchausen.’ For a price, there are hackers out there who will reprogram a synthoid to do your dirty work. The bad news: no fingerprints or DNA left at the crime scene. The good news—at least for us—is that they’re like missiles: once they hit their target, they’re usually as harmless as empty brass. The trick is to get them before they melt down their core OS data, so you can get the unit into forensics for analysis and, hopefully, an arrest.”
Artificial Intelligence? Fuhgeddaboudit!
Artificial Evil has a name…Munchausen.
Starfall by H.G. Ahedi - Preorder for $2.99
The Ayridians have fallen. Most survivors labor in the Deep, a mining colony where the Mote—a mining poison—claims entire families. But Ayra Weld’s mother didn’t die in the mines. She vanished aboard Starfall, the last transport to leave the planet.
To track Starfall, Ayra needs power, ships, and influence. She enters a brutal solar-sail race where most pilots die. Her victory forges an alliance with Zorian, a notorious power broker. Instead of funding another mine, she bankrolls a space program—turning the ruling syndicates against her. She survives sabotage, riots, and assassination attempts and completes the program with one mission: find Starfall. Then Ayra discovers she is infected and the Mote will kill her within a year.
With time running out, Ayra decides to gamble her life on one final launch. She knows this is a one-way ticket. She expects danger, not war. Two alien species are locked in a brutal conflict, and Ayra’s ship is heading straight for it—hopelessly outgunned and outmatched.
But something worse than war awaits. An apex predator culling both species—and it originates on Starfall’s last known coordinates.

The intersection of faith and the phenomenon of high strangeness presents such a compelling framework for understanding these experiences. Your research on how different religious traditions interpret potential alien encounters highlights the deeply human need to contextualize the inexplicable within existing belief systems. The podcast discussion really illuminates how questions of alien life force us to reexamine fundamental theological assumptions.
