This is absolutely fascinating. Thanks for sharing. So if a UFO invites me into their ship, I should go? It’s the rapture?

"Come," the tall aliens with the long necks said, "come." They waved their tendrils beckoning J. Michael closer. "Come see the universe."

The air felt electric. The inside of the ship was beyond words. J. Michael was enraptured.

*It was at this moment, he f'ed up*

It was the first time he heard the voice of the narrator of the cosmos. He didn't know what awaited him, but he knew he f'ed up.

It’s like you were there to witness it. 🤣

These dudes used to have a show on my cable company's public access channel late at nite. They were way out there, like Pluto. Black leather and berets with huge gold Star of David pendants around their necks and rodeo/wrestling sized Star of David belt buckles, talking about Yahweh and getting down with shofars. Watched for about an hour, and filed it in the same folder I keep the Wyoming oil field workers who were dancing with each other to Lady Gaga.

Didn't know about the space alien UFO thing, but it tracks.

Yeah, they indeed are an interesting bunch. They also love the bling, too. Sometimes, when one is so weird, they just double down. UFOs being part of the Rapture is merely par for the course for them.

it reminds me of something Edward Abbey said about Mormonism: “Nothing so hilarious could possibly be true. Or all bad".

I touch on Mormon beliefs about aliens - without touching Kobol which is used for souls in their faith. It involves the moon and dressing like Quakers. https://www.patrickabbott.net/p/aliens-and-religion-part-3-protestantism

The fridge religion rabbit hole is deep and oddly interesting. Going down it is a great way to get world building and story ideas.

It gets more and more interesting the deeper you go. The upcoming “Planets are Evil” post started off with research I was doing to see if I could write about aliens and the Mandeans. While they don’t believe in aliens, they have some very interesting astronomical beliefs.

And these beliefs are great for story telling. Zoroastrianism and certain beliefs some have about an element of Genesis are key parts of the Fallen series.
